This is an optional RPM Black Plastic ESC Cage Protector for use with the Traxxas VXL-3S Brushless ESC (TRA3355R). Why risk potential damage to your expensive speed control when the RPM option is an inexpensive piece of insurance that will prevent those tabs from ever being a problem.
The RPM solution is a simple, yet strong and effective one: They eliminated the use of the two mounting tabs on the ESC in favor of a complete cage system that solidly locks the ESC in place using RPM indestructible nylons. The ESC Cage is the most effective, durable and best protection for your speed control possible. By completely surrounding and capturing the VXL-3S ESC, damage from broken tabs and ejection from the vehicle has been completely eliminated. The RPM VXL-3S ESC Cage works perfectly even if one or both mounting tabs on the ESC have already been broken or cut off!
