The Merkava Mk.4 is the latest variant of the Merkava series tanks. The protection of front hull and turret top against enemy anti-tank weapons has been greatly enhanced on Merkava Mk.4. And the armor has been changed to modular armor. This tank is fitted with the German MTU883 engine coupled to a brand-new automatic transmission. The new power system can generate an output of 1500hp. Its widely equipped with the Droid soft-kill active protection system which can detect the ranging or guiding laser beams from an ATGM launcher and then automatically disrupt its guiding system. The brand-new Nochri-Kal mine roller system is specially designed for the Merkava tanks.
